Howard Webb
Howard Webb, 53, of Marshalltown, IA passed away Thursday, January 2, 2025, after a hard-fought battle with cancer, surrounded by family under the care of Iowa River Hospice. At Howard’s request there will not be a formal funeral service. The family will receive guests between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., Wednesday January 8, 2025, at the Marshalltown Arts & Civic Center. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be made to the Louisa-Muscatine School District Art Program (14354 170th St, Letts, IA 52754). Born November 7, 1971, in Kirksville, MO, Howard was a beloved husband, father, and friend; known for his kind heart, sense of humor and creative spirit.
Howard began his career as an arborist and in time, his passion for creativity and education led him to transition into a rewarding career as an art teacher where he inspired many students with his unique perspective on life and his deep love for the arts.
On June 28, 1997, Howard married Carol (Hepker) Webb. Together, they built a beautiful life, marked by love and mutual respect. Howard’s greatest joy was their daughter, Matilda Webb, who was the light of his life. He took immense pride in watching Matilda grow and thrive, and he loved sharing his wisdom and love of art with her.
Howard will be remembered not only for his remarkable talents but also for his warmth, generosity, and the genuine care he gave to everyone he encountered, His legacy lives on through his family, friends, and the many students whose lives he touched.
Howard is survived by his wife, Carol Webb, his daughter, Matilda Webb, his mother, Donna Webb, his brother, James Webb of Minneapolis, MN, and numerous extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Tom Webb.
