Lola Dreessen
Lola Dreessen, 83, of Gladbrook, IA passed away Thursday, January 30, 2025, at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital in Waterloo, IA. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Peace United Church of Christ in Gladbrook. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Inurnment will follow services at Crystal Cemetery in rural Toledo, IA. Luncheon will follow burial at the church. Anderson Funeral Homes has been entrusted with the arrangements. Lola Kathryn was born November 25, 1941, to Urban and Alice (Wolken) Goodman in Marshalltown, IA. She graduated from Rhodes High School and went on to attend beauty school. Lola married the love of her life, Darold, on June 20, 1964, at St. Joseph Church in Rhodes, IA. The two made their home on a farm in rural Toledo before retiring and moving to Gladbrook. She adored her many years as a homemaker and farm wife. Lola was a member of Peace United Church of Christ, the Porkettes, Crystal Township Club, Garwin Homemakers Club, and GNO Club. She volunteered for many years at Westbrook Acres Nursing Home. Lola enjoyed golfing and biking, riding several years on RAGBRAI. She also enjoyed quilting and traveling, spending many winters in Arizona. Most of all, Lola enjoyed any time spent with her family and friends.
Lola will be missed by her husband, Darold, her daughter, Sandra Dreessen of Pflugerville, TX, her son, Michael (Sandy) Dreessen of Toledo, IA, her brother, Darrell (Marge) Goodman of State Center, IA, two step grandchildren, Rhiannon and Joseph, her sister-in-law, Jolene (Dick) Denbow of Gladbrook, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Karen Winey, sister-in-law, Annette Erpelding, brothers-in-law, Don Drummer, John Winey, and Larry Erpelding, two nieces and one nephew.
