Dale “Moe” Moore

Dale “Moe” Eugene Moore, age 81, lifelong resident of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away surrounded by love and family. He was a leap year baby, born on February 29, 1944, in Marshalltown and graduated from West Marshall High School.

Dale began his career at Fishers, where he worked faithfully for 33 years. He was known for his dedication to his work and for his love of sports and music. Dale retired in 1999, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, stories, and a deep love for his family and friends.

A lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs and a lover of all things sports, Dale could often be found enjoying a sports game, a song, or a party with his favorite people. Music was the soundtrack to his life–he appreciated everything from the soulful tunes of the 60s to the hits of today.

He is lovingly remembered by his children: Steve (Beth) and Jennifer, his eight grandchildren: Jonathan (Tori), Olivia (Donavan), Maggie (Aaron), Rachel (Deepro), Seth (Skye), Austin (Faith), Julian (Madeline), and his eight great-grandchildren.

Dale is also survived by his siblings: Robert (Linda) Moore, Janet (Butch) Hatch, and Ron Moore, and countless friends who knew him as “Moe,” the guy with a quick wit, generous spirit, and a story always ready to be told.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Mitchell Family Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2025, followed by a service at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dale’s honor to Jonathan’s House International and 2nd Chance Thrift Store, supporting the orphanage and medical clinic in Sierra Leone, Africa.
