Who knew that a few hundred dollars could spark a revolution? Back in 1966, the MCC Foundation started with a small but mighty goal: to help deserving students achieve their higher education dreams.

Fast forward to today, and the impact is undeniable. Last year alone, the Foundation awarded a whopping $477,283 in scholarships, thanks to the generosity of donors who contributed a total of $578,071. That’s a lot of potential, a lot of hope, and a whole lot of gratitude!

The Foundation’s mission is simple yet powerful: to provide financial aid to students who need it most. By supporting this incredible cause, you’re not just giving money; you’re investing in the future of our community.

Check out a few examples from the 2024-25 academic year:

Ivan Pantoja is a dedicated student at MCC who has been awarded the Nevada Vision Clinic, PC Scholarship. This scholarship has provided him with the financial support to focus on his education, allowing him to invest additional time and effort into his academic pursuits. When he graduates, he plans to continue his studies at the University of Iowa, where he hopes to earn a degree in Business. The scholarship has not only helped alleviate financial burdens but also motivated him to strive for excellence in all aspects of his academic journey.

Carrie Campbell is currently enrolled in the Registered Nursing Program at MCC, where she is passionate about working with patients and providing them with the support they need. Her dedication to helping others is her driving force (in both education and career aspirations). Carrie was recently awarded the Loyal S. and Helen Fairall Memorial Scholarship, which will help her complete her nursing degree (without the pressure to hold down a job at the same time) allowing her to focus more fully on her studies. This scholarship is a significant step in her journey to becoming a compassionate and skilled nurse, committed to making a difference in the lives of her patients.

These are just two examples – but there are so many more! Every day, we aim to help students overcome the hurdles they face, and help them achieve their dreams of earning a college degree.
