AMES — Iowa State junior guard Lexi Donarski has entered the transfer portal, as first reported by the Des Moines Register.

Donarski, a three-year starter for the Cyclone women’s basketball team, was a key contributor in Iowa State’s first Big 12 Conference Tournament title since 2001.

The 6-foot guard was the Big 12’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2022 and started in all 95 games during her three seasons in Ames. Donarski averaged 13.2 points per game in her career at Iowa State.

The Cyclones are already losing senior Ashley Joens, the program’s all-time leader in points (3,060), rebounds (1,391), games played and started (158), field goals (988), 3-pointers (344), free throws made (740), double-doubles (65) and points per game (19.4).

Senior transfer Stephanie Soares announced on Wednesday her plans to enter the WNBA Draft after her waiver request for an additional season of eligibility was denied by the NCAA. Soares, a 6-foot-6 center, had eight double-doubles in 13 games this season before getting sidelined by a torn ACL in her left knee.

Iowa State guard Maggie Espenmiller-McGraw and forwards Morgan Kane and Maggie Vick have already entered the transfer portal.

Donarski is a former five-star recruit and McDonald’s All-American from LaCrosse, Wis.

Starting at $4.38/week.
