Fennelly scores 600th win with Cyclones

PROVO, Utah — The Iowa State women’s basketball team delivered head coach Bill Fennelly his 600th win with the Cyclones after a 80-75 triumph over BYU on Saturday in Big 12 Conference play.

Iowa State (10-4, 3-0) committed 10 turnovers in the first half and trailed by three, 33-30, at the intermission. The Cyclones turned the tides by way of the 3-pointer, going 8-for-14 from beyond the arc after halftime.

Fennelly’s ISU record moved to 600-305, while his career mark rose to 766-358.

Freshman Addy Brown had a career-high of 24 points thanks to four 3-pointers, while Arianna Jackson also made four triples and scored a career-best 17 points. Audi Crooks added 13 points, Emily Ryan added 11 off the bench and Hannah Belanger finished with 10.

Iowa State won the battle on the boards, outrebounding BYU 41-32, and went 12-of-17 at the free-throw line to the Cougars’ 2-for-6.

Kailey Woolston led BYU (10-6, 0-3) with 18 points.
