UNI’s Laube lands Player of Week honors
CEDAR FALLS — Northern Iowa woomen’s basketball player Kayba Laube was named the Missouri Valley Conference’s Player of the Week on Monday.
A Marion native, Laube finished the Paradise Jam Island Tournament with 66 points, including a career-high 34-point performance against Pittsburgh. In that game, Laube set a new UNI and Paradise Jam Tournament single-game record with 10 3-pointers. She became just the fifth MVC athlete to break the 10 3-pointer threshold.
Laube shot 62.1% from beyond the arc including 66.7% in the Panthers’ 16-point blowout of Pittsburgh. Laube added 15 recounts, five assists, and three steals to her weekend total as well.
