Sharpshooting Hawkeyes snap five-game skid
SEATTLE — The Iowa women’s basketball team shot a program-record 71 percent from the field to beat Washington 85-61 on Wednesday night and break a five-game losing streak.
The Hawkeyes (13-7, 3-6) shot 33-of-46 from the field, with Lucy Olsen leading the way with 20 points and a perfect night shooting. She went 8-for-8 from the field, including 4-of-4 from 3-point range, to power the Iowa attack.
Addison O’Grady added 17 points on 8-of-12 shooting, while Kylie Feuerbach got 12 points and Taylor McCabe added 11.
Washington’s Elle Ladine scored a game-high 24 points, but the host Huskies (13-7, 4-4) couldn’t overcome 27 turnovers.
Iowa outscored Washington 44-24 in the paint and doubled the Huskies in rebounding, 32-16.
The Hawkeyes are back at home on Tuesday, hosting Northwestern at 7 p.m. inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
