SUMNER — Aplington-Parkersburg/Grundy Center wrestling finished second out of 13 teams at Sumner-Fredericksburg’s Cougar Girls Invite on Tuesday at S-F High School.

The Falcons scored 142 points, a single point behind the hosts in the team title race. Anamosa was third at 135 points.

A-P/GC’s Ellie Reints won the 130-pound bracket with a 3-0 performance, pinning all three opponents. Kira Cox claimed gold at 170 pounds, going 4-0 in a round robin with four pins.

The Falcons also had four runners-up: Grace Storjohann at 120 pounds, Kylee Babcock at 125, Caylee Harken at 140 and Zoey Uhlenhopp at 145.
