Crooks, Dinnebier named to AP All-America squads

Iowa State sophomore center Audi Crooks has been named a third team All-American by The Associated Press, while Drake senior guard Katie Dinnebier received honorable mention.

Crooks earned the promotion from last year’s honorable mention squad after averaging 23.2 points per game to lead the Big 12 Conference this season. A 6-foot-3 center, Crooks was shooting better than 60 percent from the field going into Iowa State’s First Four NCAA Tournament game on Wednesday night.

Crooks leads the nation with 304 field goal makes this season, tying for the 10th best mark in school history. The Algona native broke Iowa State single-season records for points (765) and field goals this season.

Dinnebier earned her first All-America honor after being named the Missouri Valley Conference’s Jackie Stiles Player of the Year. She’s the 11th player in school history to earn All-America status.

Dinnebier leads the country in assists per game (7.3) while also averaging 23.4 points per game. The Waukee graduate was tops in the NCAA with 12 30-point games this season.
