NEW YORK — The Iowa women’s basketball team will compete in the Women’s Champions Classic for the second year in a row when the event descends upon the Barclays Center on Dec. 20, 2025.

The Women’s Champions Classic will be headlined by UConn, Louisville, Tennessee and Iowa.

Tennessee will take on Louisville and Iowa will face Connecticut.

UNI men’s hoops selected for 2025 Acrisure Series

CEDAR FALLS — The Northern Iowa men’s basketball team will spend its 2025 Thanksgiving week on the West Coast as the Panthers were announced as part of the 2025 Acrisure Series field on Tuesday.

Northern Iowa will play two games on Nov. 25-26 at the Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, Calif., in a pod that also includes Nevada, Loyola-Chicago and Tulsa. Opening matchups, tipoff times and TV broadcasting information will be announced at a later date.

The event, which debuted in 2023 for both men’s and women’s teams, featured 10 men’s programs this season that went on to reach a postseason tournament in 2025, including four NCAA qualifiers (Grand Canyon, Colorado State, Saint Mary’s, New Mexico), three NIT qualifiers (Stanford, SMU, Santa Clara) and three College Basketball Crown participants (Washington State, USC, Arizona State).
